5/27 Classroom Update

This week, we had so much fun reading fairy tales and participating in fairy tale themed activities. After reading Goldilocks and the Three Bears, we extended AABB patterns and sorted words that began with the "B" and "G" sounds.  After reading The Three Little Pigs, we built houses out of blocks and designed what we wanted our houses to look like. We also pretended to be the Big Bad Wolf and used straws to create "blow art" by blowing paint into different designs. After reading Jack and the Beanstalk, we revisited our plants and discussed what our plants needed to live. Lastly, we read different versions of Cinderella and made shape castles and acted out stories in the dramatic play centers.

Next week, we will begin reflecting about our year together and revisit some of our favorite activities. We will also be talking about summer and participating in summer themed activities.

Reminder: There is no school or childcare on Monday. May 30th for Memorial Day. We will see everyone back at WECC on Tuesday, May 31.

Progress Reports: Progress reports and student work portfolios will go home on Thursday, June 9 for the morning class and on Wednesday, June 8 for the afternoon class.

End of the Year Preschool Family Gathering: Please join us on Thursday,  June 9 (PM Class) and Friday, June 10 (AM Class) for an end of the year get together. We will provide drinks and snacks. All you need to bring is a picnic blanket and a smile!

5/20 Classroom Update

This week, we had so much fun learning about camping and camping out in our classroom. We sang lots of silly campfire songs, camped in our classroom tent, went fishing at the water table, painted campfires with our hands, and made campers in their sleeping bags. Here are some of the great books we read this week:

      

Hearing/Vision Screening Results: The results of your child's hearing and vision screening tests went home this week in your child's folder. Please keep this blue piece of paper in a safe place as hearing and vision screenings are required to enter kindergarten.

Reminder: There is no school on Monday, May 30th for Memorial Day.

Next week, we will be reading lots of fairy tales and fractured fairy tales. I'm looking forward to another great week!
