MWF 3's Class:
This week, we learned all about bears and hibernation! We looked at pictures of different bears, learned what they eat, and discussed why it might be hard for them to find food in the winter. During circle time, we used bears to act out bears hibernating and waking up in the spring in the song "Sleepy Bears" and acted out a polar bear rhyme. We also learned about the letter M and opposites, and sorted things that are hot and cold. On Wednesday, we turned our handprints into monsters for our letter books, played a counting and visual discrimination bear game, and built dens for our bears to hibernate in. On Friday, we painted polar bears by painting the negative space, built patterns with bears, and practiced writing the first letter of our name and using scissors! This week, we also had lots of fun playing outside in the snow and playing with the parachute with Ms. Janet! Here are lots of great pictures from our week in 3's:
PM 5's Class:
This week, we learned about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and also focused on celebrating our differences. We learned that Dr. Martin Luther King had a dream of a word where all people were treated equally and with kindness. We came up with our own dreams of how to make the world a better place. We also discussed how it does not matter what people look like, where they are from, or if they have different interests/abilities/beliefs than us, but that what matters is that we are all special people on the inside deserving of kindness and respect. During circle time, we compared a brown egg and white egg. We noticed that while they were different colors and sizes, they both felt the same when we touched them. After cracking them open, we noticed that they looked exactly the same on the inside! We talked about how people are kind of like the eggs: we all look different on the outside but we all are people who deserve kindness and respect on in the inside. We also learned about the letter R, turned the letter R into a rabbit for our letter books, reviewed building Mat Man and practiced drawing people. Here are some highlights from the week:
