MWF 3's Class:
This week, we engaged in lots of summer fun! We identified and explored summer objects, learned about summer safety, and discussed things people like to do in summer. We also talked about the fun summer treats people like to eat and learned how ice cream is made. We had lots of fun working in our classroom ice cream shop and made some fun summer treat crafts. During centers, we practiced sharing and using our manners with a fun ice cream toss game, sequenced the letters in our names, and worked on counting out ice cream scoops. On Friday, we learned about summer holidays including Memorial Day and Independence Day. We painted fireworks with straws and created patriotic wreaths to decorate for the holidays. Next week, we will reflect on our wonderful year together and have some fun with bubbles! Here are some picture highlights from our week in 3's:
PM 5's Class:
This week, we had a great time looking ahead to summer fun! We learned about summer, the weather in summer, and fun things to do in the summertime. We also learned about opposites and identified many different pairs of opposites. We enjoyed lots of time playing outside in the beautiful weather and working in our classroom ice cream shop! We learned how ice cream is made and graphed our favorite flavors. We learned about different holidays in the summer, summer safety, and the -op word family. We also created summer bucket lists of things we would like to do this summer. On Wednesday, we took a special trip to the Tower Garden in order to help pollinate all the flowers growing on it. We discussed how we needed to do the jobs of bees for the tomato and pepper plants because we couldn't release a bunch of bees in our school :). Next week, we will reflect on all we have learned and our favorite memories from the year. Here are some picture highlights from our week in 5's:
