MWF 3's Class:
This week, we had the best time camping in our classroom! We learned about the different types of gear that people take camping and planned what we would bring on a camping trip. We also learned how to be safe while camping, discussed things people like to do while camping, and went on a bear hunt. During center time, we painted patterns with marshmallows, created a campsite scene, played number recognition fishing game, played with woodland animals in special sensory "dirt," practiced building and drawing Mat Man, and painted an early father's day surprise! We enjoyed lots of outside time with the beautiful weather and finished off the week acting out the classic "We're Going on a Bear Hunt." On Friday, we had our final music class of the year with Ms. Lori where we were visited the zoo and sang/danced like animals. Here are some pictures from our week in 3's:
PM 5's:
This week, we had so much fun camping in our classroom! We discussed our own camping experiences, learned about the gear campers need, and explored different places people can go camping. We discussed camping safety, particularly the importance of being safe around a campfire. We also learned about the -ot word family and practiced reading and writing -ot and camping words! During center time, we created a campsite scene, went on a camping word hunt around the classroom, and painted a special Father's Day surprise! We also challenged ourselves with finding missing numbers, changing letters in words to make new words, adding the ending sounds to words and using fish to solve subtraction problems. On Wednesday, we celebrated Norway's Constitution Day and learned about the different way people celebrate in Norway. We especially loved seeing the King and Queen of Norway waving to everyone in the Constitution Day Parade! On Thursday, we celebrated our superhero "Power to Choose" and had so much fun acting like animals during music with Ms. Lori. Next week, we will begin our summer theme and learn about the -op word family! Here are some picture highlights from our week in 5's:
Have a great weekend!
