Field Trip Information:
This week, your child will be bringing home a permission slip for our first field trip of the year in their Thursday folder! We will be going to Schwallier's Country Basket on Thursday, October 15th to taste apples, pick pumpkins, and pet farm animals! We are looking for volunteer drivers/chaperones to join us on the trip. There is a fee of $5 per child and adult attending. Please keep an eye out for the permission slip in your child's folder and return the bottom portion of the slip by Friday, October 9th.

Classroom Updates:
This week, we learned all about the letter E! We read stories that began with the letter E, we practiced identifying uppercase and lowercase Es, and as well as writing the letter E. We are working on making elephants that will soon be proudly displayed in our hallway for families to admire! Here is a look at some of the stories we read below:
This week, we also continued our "Kissing Hand" theme in class. We made our own Chester Racoon puppets for students to retell the story of "The Kissing Hand," as well as read many more stories about Chester. We read "Chester the Brave," and talked about how being brave doesn't mean not being scared, but trying something when you are scared anyway!
This coming week, we begin our "All About Me" theme where we will discover what makes each of us special. We will focus on our names, discuss similarities and differences among us, and learn more about each other. We will also focus on the letter F, the sound the letter F makes, and words that begin with the letter F.
I hope you all had a relaxing and restful weekend. I'm looking forward to another great week!
