Important Dates/Reminders
MWF 3's Class:
This week, we learned all about bears and hibernation! We looked at pictures of different bears, learned what they eat, and discussed why it might be hard for them to find food in the winter. During circle time, we used bears to act out bears hibernating and waking up in the spring in the song "Sleepy Bears" and acted out a polar bear rhyme. We also learned about the letter M and opposites, and sorted things that are hot and cold. On Wednesday, we played a counting and visual discrimination game, built dens for bears to hibernate in, and built patterns with bears. On Friday, we turned our handprints into monsters for our letter books, painted polar bears by painting the negative space, practiced writing the first letter of our name and using scissors. Here are some fun pictures from our week in 3's:
PM 5's Class:
This week, we learned about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and focused on celebrating our differences/what makes each of us special and unique. We learned that Dr. Martin Luther King had a dream of a world where all people were treated equally and with kindness. We came up with our own dreams of how to make the world a better place, and we had some really thoughtful and insightful ideas! We also discussed how it does not matter what people look like, where they are from, or if they have different interests/abilities/beliefs than us. Instead that what really matters is that we are all special people on the inside deserving of kindness and respect. During circle time, we compared a brown egg and white egg. We noticed that while they were different colors and sizes, they both felt the same when we touched them. After cracking them open, we noticed that they looked exactly the same on the inside! We talked about how people are kind of like the eggs: we all look different on the outside but we are the same on the inside in that all are people who deserve kindness and respect. We also learned about the letter R, turned the letter R into a rabbit for our letter books, reviewed Mat Man and practiced drawing people. Here are some highlights from the week:
