Important Dates/Reminders
PM 5's Class:
This week, we learned about many different community helpers and the important jobs they do within a community! We discussed the categories of safety helpers, school helpers, transportation helpers, food helpers, health helpers, and builders and fixers, but also acknowledged that there are many more important people and jobs in our communities. We explored the important roles these categories play in our community, as well as learned about some of the tools they need to do their jobs. During center time, we enjoyed designing and building a model playground, trying on different community helper jobs, reading about community helpers, matching community helpers to their tools, and playing in the fire truck and fire station. We worked on strengthening our fine motor skills by doing some push pin letter writing, and we stamped the beginning sounds to -ad word family words. We focused on the -ad word family and sorted words in the -at and -ad word families. We also used watercolor paints to paint the covers to our letter books! When we return from spring break, we will focus on the season of spring and the -an word family! Here are some picture highlights from our week in 5's:
