T/Th 3's Class:

This week, we continued our exploration of rainbows and had lots of fun celebrating St. Patrick's Day!  On Tuesday, we reviewed all the colors of the rainbow and worked together to make a liquid rainbow. On Thursday, we were so excited to find that a leprechaun visited our classroom and had gotten into lots of mischief! He left lots of footprints throughout our room and Lucky Charm marshmallows behind! We used the marshmallows to make "Friendship treats." Each type of marshmallow represented important qualities of a being a good friend like kindness, sharing, teamwork, smiles, and fun. We especially getting to enjoy them with our friends during snack time! We learned about symbols of St. Patrick's Day and painted shamrocks, sang a song about the color green, and planned what we would do with a pot of gold if we caught a leprechaun! We also learned about the letter U this week and turned our handprints into umbrellas. Next week, we will learn about the letter V and begin talking about Spring! PM 5's Class:

This week, we celebrated our 100th day of preschool and St. Patrick's Day! On Monday, we reflected on how we have learned and grown so far in the last 100 days of school. We counted out 100 pieces of snack to make a special snack mix, played a Roll to 100 math game, strung necklaces with 100 beads, and imagined what we will look like when we're 100 years old! We also completed STEM challenges to see what we could build with 100 legos and 100 cups and index cards. To prepare for St. Patrick's Day, we worked together to create a liquid rainbow and build a leprechaun trap. We were shocked to find leprechaun tracks all through our classroom and fake gold left behind on Wednesday! We also learned about the letter I, discussed what makes a vowel, and practiced sorting vowels and consonants. Next week, we will learn about what makes a community and different types of communities. We have also finished all of our letters and will be learning about the -at word family! Have a great weekend!
