11/22 Classroom Update

Important Dates/Reminders

Thanksgiving Break: WECC will be closed Wednesday, November 23rd through Friday, November 25th for Thanksgiving. Classes will resume on Monday, November 28th

Snow Gear: Please make sure that all of your child's snow gear is labeled. Many items look similar and preschoolers are not always sure which items are theirs. If you would prefer to send in a set of snow pants/cold weather gear to keep at school, we are also happy to keep their items hanging from their hooks ready to go!

Winter Break: There are no preschool classes Monday, December 19th through Monday, January 2nd. Preschool classes will resume on Tuesday, January 3rd.

MWF 3's Class:

This week, we continued to talk about Thanksgiving and things we are grateful for! During circle time, we talked about traditional thanksgiving foods and planned our own thanksgiving feast. We learned about and sequenced the life cycle of a turkey. During centers, we played in our harvest sensory tub, created turkey headbands while naming things we were grateful for, and played in our dramatic play grocery store. We also had LOTS of fun playing in the winter wonderland that was our playground. Here are some pictures highlights from Monday:

PM 5's Class:

This week in 5's, we learned about Thanksgiving and discussed different Thanksgiving traditions. We talked about traditional foods that people eat on Thanksgiving and our favorite things to eat on Thanksgiving. We read a book called No Turkey for Thanksgiving and discussed how there are many ways to celebrate a holiday - no right or wrong ways! We planned and wrote our own individual Thanksgiving menus, created turkey headbands with things we are grateful for, painted fun Thanksgiving keepsakes, and enjoyed playing in our grocery store dramatic play and harvest sensory bin. Next week, we will learn about the letter S and dinosaurs! Here are some picture highlights from our week in 5's:

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
