Please bring any donations you may have to class and I will put them in our class donation box. Thank you to everyone who has already donated and for helping us support such a wonderful organization!

Warm Clothing: As it gets colder, please send your child with warm clothing for outside time each day. Many items look similar, so please label your child's coat, boots, hat, and gloves/mittens. We go outside daily as long as it is not raining and the wind chill is above zero. If there is snow in the forecast or on the ground, please also send your child with snow pants as well.

Winter Break: There will be no preschool classes starting Monday, December 21 through Friday, January 1. School will resume on Monday, January 4th.

T/Th 3's Class:

This week, we learned all about turkeys and the letter I. We had fun playing a turkey letter recognition game, building turkeys with pattern blocks, adding playdough feathers to turkeys, and shopping in our "Preschool Market." We also painted turkeys with dish brushes, practiced cutting turkey feathers and built name turkeys. We learned about the sounds the letter I makes, the sign for the letter I, and identified things that begin with the letter I. We began discussing gratitude and what it means to be thankful. We will continue to count our blessing next week! Here are some picture highlights from this week in preschool:

PM 5's Class:

This week in 5's, we learned all about turkeys! We learned about the parts of a turkey, the life cycle of a turkey, and compared turkeys and chickens. We learned about and practiced Three Star Coloring which includes making the white go away, staying in the lines, and coloring things the right color. We worked on identifying beginning and ending sounds in words, and segmenting words into syllables. We also learned about the letters G and Q, and continued to work on our letter book portfolios. We began talking about gratitude and things we are grateful for. We will continue those discussions next week! Here are some picture highlights from our week in 5's:

T/Th 3's Class:

This week, our theme was "Helping Hands" and we learned about the letter H. We discussed how we can have kind/safe hands at school, and all the fun and helpful things that we can do with our hands (ex. coloring, high fives, building, playing, cleaning up, waving, learning, etc.)! We also learned the Mat Man song, worked together to build Mat Man, and practiced drawing a person while singing the Mat Man song. You can find the Mat Man song here - it's a great way to learn how to draw a person while remembering all the parts! For the next two weeks, we will be learning all about turkeys and gratitude. Here are some picture highlights from this week:

PM 5's Class:

This week in 5's, we learned about the ocean and the letter O. We learned about some of the different zones of the ocean and the different types of life you can find there. We were especially surprised to find that life has been found in the Challenger Deep - the deepest part of the ocean! We specifically learned about sharks, seahorses, octopuses, and sea animals that live in shells. We simulated how octopuses use ink to protect themselves, identified the parts of a shark, and learned the differences between mammals and fish. We clapped out syllables in the names of ocean animals, identified the beginning sounds in different ocean words, built sea animals with pattern blocks, and enjoyed playing with ocean animals in a water tub. Next week, we will be learning about turkeys and gratitude.
