3/23 Classroom Update

This week, we had so much fun learning about our community and different types of communities. We located our community on a map and identified our favorite places within our community. We learned about the three different types of communities (rural, suburban, and urban/city) and the different types of places found in communities. As a class, we worked together to build our own community with each student adding their own unique place or home to the community. We also learned about needs (things we need to survive) and wants (things that make life easier), and are working on differentiating between the two! Next week, we will continue our discussion of communities by learning about community helpers and jobs people do!

3/9 Classroom Update!

This week, we had so much fun exploring the story of The Three Little Pigs! We read several different versions of the classic story, as well as learned about different elements of a story (characters, setting, problem/solution). It was so fun to see our preschoolers retelling the story by acting out the different characters in our dramatic play center. We also practiced identifying things that happened in the beginning, middle, and end of the story. Here are some picture highlights from this week:

3/2 Classroom Update

We had such a fun week in preschool this week celebrating the joy of reading Dr. Seuss books in honor of his birthday today! We focused a lot on rhyming this week, both during circle and center time. During circle time, we danced to a rhyming freeze dance song, played rhyming memory, and identified patterns with rhyming words. During center time, we matched rhyming words and well as generated our own rhyming words for our rhyming foxes. Here is a glimpse of some of the fun this week:
