Important Dates/Reminders:

No School 10/29: There are no preschool classes on Friday, October 29th.

Thanksgiving Break: There are no preschool classes Wednesday, November 24th through Friday, November 26th for Thanksgiving Break.

MWF 3's:

This week, we engaged in lots of Pete the Cat learning fun! We read several Pete the Cat stories, practiced identifying colors, and retelling. On Wednesday, we read Pete the Cat: I Love My White Shoes and retold the story together on the carpet and played a "Where is Pete hiding?" color recognition game. During center time, we decorated our own white shoes, practiced putting our shoes on and off independently, and played a Pete the Cat matching game. On Friday, we created a new class book about rocking in our own school shoes, engaged in some sensory play, played a color match game with classroom items, and sequenced a Pete the Cat story. Look for our new class book to visit your home soon! Next week, we are going to be learning about signs of fall! PM 5's:

This week we focused on our names and the letters in our names! We read Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and had the letters in our name climb up the coconut tree! We also built our names out of playdough, sorted letters in/not in our names, and used lines and curves to build the letters in our name. We also have started practicing writing our names daily and using proper pencil/crayon grasp. Here is a helpful song about how to hold a crayon properly that we have been singing in class! To practice proper pencil grasp, we colored fireworks using an aim and scribble method to get used to holding our crayons the correct way! On Thursday, we made magic watercolor paintings to reveal our names! Next week, we are going to focus on how to be kind friends! Have a good weekend!
