This week, we had so much fun learning about farms, food that comes from farms, and farm animals. In spite of the weather, we had the best time at our Dairy Discovery field trip to Swisslane Farms. Highlights included feeding baby calves bottles (some had just been born hours earlier!), going on the hayride (AM class), and playing in the maze in the barn. During centers this week, we dipped chalk in buttermilk to make a special effect, wrote about what we learned on our field trip, played in our classroom Farm Stand, built farms out of blocks for our farm animals to live in, sorted farm vs. zoo animals, and played a farm animal memory game.

Next week, our theme will be camping! We will have a campsite in our classroom to play in, be able to go fishing at the water table, create our own campsites, and learn lots of great campfire songs! We will also continue to review our letters and numbers, and we will work on finishing up our letter books. I'm looking forward to another great week!
