5/6 Update

Field Trip Reminder: Our field trip to Dairy Discovery is this coming Tuesday, May 10. We will be leaving promptly at 8:45 am and 12:45 pm. If you have not returned your permission slip and cash, please be sure to turn in your money on Monday. The field trip costs $5 per adult and per child attending. Students that have not paid will be not able to attend so it is very important to get your form/money in asap!

At Swisslane farms, we will be learning about life on a dairy farm. Students will tour the farm, feed baby calves, and see how the cows are milked. Right now there is rain in the forecast for Tuesday, so please be sure to wear boots that can get muddy, bring a raincoat, and dress in layers. Fingers crossed the weathermen are wrong!

This week, we learned all about the letter J and prepared for Mother's Day. We made a J into a jellyfish, wrote a story to share with our moms at our Mother's Day Celebration, matched mother animals to their babies, and continued to work in our classroom garden and watch our plants grow. I was so proud of our preschoolers with what a wonderful job they did sharing all they've learned in Spanish class during our Cinco de Mayo/Mother's Performance. They did an amazing job!

Here are some of the great books we read this week in honor of our wonderful moms:

Next week, we will begin our full letter review and learn about life on farm. We will be learning about animals that live on a farm, jobs at a farm, and foods that come from farms. I'm looking forward to another great week!
