Conferences: . Due to COVID, this year we will be offering virtual conferences via Google Meet or Zoom the week of February 22nd for any parents who have questions regarding placement for your child for next school year. Ms. Carly will schedule conferences for ECSE families separately. If you would like to schedule a ten minute conference, please email me at kbillmei@egprs.org with your availability on the following dates and times. I will do my best to try to accommodate everyone's preferred availability, and will email you a confirmation along with a Zoom or Google Meet link to the conference. Here are the dates/times:

  • Monday, February 22nd - 9 -11 am
  • Tuesday, February 23rd - 3 - 4 pm
  • Wednesday. February 24th - 9-11 am
  • Thursday, February 23rd - 9 -11 am
  • Friday, February 24th - 12 - 3 pm

Progress Reports: Preschool progress notes will be sent home next week in your child's folder on Thursday (2/18).

No School 2/15: There will be no preschool classes Monday, February 15th for President's Day/Mid-Winter Break.

2021-22 WECC Enrollment: Enrollment for next year, for current families, will be the week of March 1. Open enrollment for new families will be the week of March 15th. Ms. Jackie will be sending an email with specific enrollment information at a later date.

Spring Break: There will be no preschool classes Friday, April 2nd through Friday, April 9th for Spring Break. Classes will resume Monday, April 12th.

Kindergarten Registration: The EGRPS website regarding kindergarten registration information has been updated. Intent to enroll forms are now available. The link to the page can be found here. Please let me know if you plan on enrolling your child and would like me to fill out a Preschool Teacher form for you!

Warm Clothing: Please continue to send your child's winter/snow gear in their canvas bag each day. Please double check that their bag contains their snow pants, boots, coat, hat, and mittens. Many items look similar, so please label your child's coat, snow pants, boots, hat, and gloves/mittens. We try to go outside daily as long as it is not raining, the wind chill is above zero, and the playground is not too muddy/icy. If you have a pair of school shoes or hard bottom slippers that you would like to keep at school, let me know and we can keep them at school to avoid having to lug them back and forth each day.

T/Th 3's Class:

This week, we learned about neighborhood helpers like mail carriers, garbage collectors, and reporters. We really enjoyed playing in our classroom post office and mailing valentines to our friends! During circle time, we discussed Valentine's Day and ways we can show love to our family and friends. We also learned about the letter P and reviewed how to draw a person with Mat Man! Here are some picture highlights from our week in 3's preschool:

PM 5's Class:

This week, we discussed Valentine's Day and reviewed what makes a good friend. We discussed how friends do not always agree and that problems can arise, but that friends can resolve problems kindly. We also talked about the importance of using cotton ball/kind words with others instead of sandpaper/unkind words. We learned about the letter M this week and turned the letter M into a mouse for our letter books. During center time, we worked on recognizing, building and writing sight words. We also worked on decoding new words and sorting them based on whether or not they were real or nonsense words. We also practiced sharing materials and working as a team to put numbers in order and practice skip counting. Here are some picture highlights from 5's:

Have a great weekend! See you Tuesday!
