Important Dates/Reminders:

Scholastic Book Order: Last week, I sent home Scholastic book order fliers in your child's folder for our final book order of the school year. This is a great opportunity to add books to your collection at home while also earning points to add more books to our classroom library. With a $25 order, you can pick a free $5 book with the code READS.
No School 5/29: There are no preschool classes on Monday, May 29th in observance of Memorial Day.

Field Day: Weather permitting, we will have a field day on Wednesday, May 31st! If the weather is warm enough, we will also have some water activities. Please come to school ready to spend most of the preschool day outside. Also, please apply sunscreen before coming to school. More details to follow!

Summer Send-Off: We invite you to join us for a Summer Send-off playground meet up for our preschool students on Friday, June 2nd from 10:45-11:15 for AM students and on Thursday, June 1st from 2:30-3:00 for PM students. Please meet our class on the back WECC playground (weather permitting) to spend time time mingling and reminiscing on our amazing year together with classmates and their families.

Last Day of School: The last day of school for PM classes is Thursday, June 1st, and the last day of school for AM classes is Friday, June 2nd.

MWF 3's Class:

This week, we learned about farms and animals that live on farms! We had so much fun learning about different animals on the farm and making the sounds they make. During circle time, we learned about different jobs that farmers do and acted them out in song. We also solved farm animal riddles and sorted rhyming words that rhymed with different farm animals. During center time, we sorted farm vs. zoo animals, observed our butterflies, practiced counting out seeds and picking berries. We sorted farm animals by size, practiced counting different quantities of farm animals, and built farm animals with pattern blocks. Playing in the kinetic sand farm sensory bin was a major hit this week! On Friday, friends will continue exploring farm life and learning more about different farm animals with Ms. Carly! Here are some picture highlights of our week so far in 3's:

PM 5's Class:

This week, we learned about farms! We learned about jobs on a farm, different farm animals, and things that grow on farms. We were able to spend lots of time outside with the beautiful weather too! We learned that sometimes when letters come together, they make a new sound! We focused on the digraphs ch, sh, and th and the sounds they make at the beginning and end of words. We also learned about the -ip word family and practiced building and reading words in the -ip word family. We have also been reading the book series What Should Danny Do? and learning about how we all have the superhero "power to choose." We are learning how our choices give us responsibility for our actions and can have positive or negative consequences. Next week, we will continue to read the Danny books to see how making different choices can change Danny's days. On Thursday 5/18, we will have a superhero celebration to celebrate our awesomeness and superhero power to choose! I invite friends to dress like superheroes next Thursday to help celebrate! Our friends will continue to explore farm life tomorrow with Ms. Henriette. Here are some pictures of our week so far in 5's:

Have a great weekend!
